Chris Yarrow
Chris is an experienced civil engineer who started his career in the mid 1990s. Chris set up HY Consulting Limited in January 2008, re-branding as Via Solutions in 2016. In his early career Chris worked within an engineering team at Powys Council providing cost benefit appraisal, design support and implementation on a range of highway improvement schemes on strategic routes. This delivery experience has proved invaluable in his private sector career as Chris has an exceptional ability to challenge and look at a range of options to ensure that the best commercial outcome for the client is determined. Chris can provide advice in relation to a range of highway matters associated with a wide variety of existing and proposed developments nationwide and across a broad range of sectors including energy, food and drink, retail (in particular servicing and car park management), industrial and residential.

Eric Appleton
Eric is a highly experienced Chartered Engineer specialising in the field of highways and transportation, He started his career in 1980 and has gained a wide portfolio of skills across a range of different projects and sectors since then. This experience has included senior level roles in Local Highways Authorities as well as private consultancy where Eric has had responsibility for traffic management, road safety, the design and implementation of highway improvement and highway maintenance projects as well as the implementation of developer funded highway improvements (Section 106 and Section 278 Agreement’s). Eric private consultancy roles have allowed him to developed a strong and varied skill set in working for private sector clients in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Traffic and Junction Modelling, Travel Planning and Road Safety Audits as well as design of highway/road safety improvements and giving evidence at Public Inquiries.

Ali Yarrow
Ali is an environmental consultant and manager who started her career in the mid 1990's gaining experience in the private Environmental and Engineering Consultancy sector. She has been involved in a huge variety of multidisciplinary development and infrastructure projects for both the private and public sector covering many aspects of environmental, transport, engineering and sustainability services. She joined Via in 2013 and works part time providing business and technical support; Ali is also a Director at Delta Simons Environmental Consultancy, who work closely with Via on a range of projects. Ali has senior level experience of delivering and managing environmental planning elements and EIAs for major complex planning applications across many sectors including energy from waste, renewables, linear civils, industrial, commercial and residential. Through Delta Simons and Via can provide a broad range of environmental and transport services to support to your project.

Matt Taylor
Matt joined Via solutions in spring 2020, as a graduate Transport Planner after graduating last year from Leeds University, Matt gained a variety of experience prior to joining Via Solutions and is currently supporting on a wide variety of projects at Via Solutions including Travel Plans, Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, and technician support. Matt is a member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.

James Longley
James is an undergraduate transport planner working towards a degree in Transport Planning at Aston University as an apprentice through Via Solutions. James has been with Via since 2016 and is working on a great variety of projects providing valuable support with in CAD, traffic surveys, traffic modelling and highway engineering. James is learning the tools of the trade and becoming a multi-skilled transport planner through the experience he is gaining at university college and via through his apprenticeship

Chewy the cockerpoo provides valuable office support by offering a friendly welcome to guests, hoovering of crumbs, eating Chris' lunch and as an effective foot warmer during colder months. His technical expertise lies in barking profusely to the words cat and squirrel as well as a little mountain biking and escaping from the garden in his spare time.
